"Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge" "River Otters"

The River "S" Unit of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge has a 4.2 mile auto tour route and 1.5 mile seasonal hiking trail. The auto tour is an excellent way to see the Refuge. A pair of binoculars is a must and a camera makes it even more fun !!! River Otters can often be seen swimming, feeding, and playing in the canals. August 27, 2007, Trip Log Early morning August 27, a "family" of about 8 River Otters were feeding and playing just off the Kiwa Trail bridge over the slough.
