The River "S" Unit of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge has a 4.2 mile auto tour route and 1.5 mile seasonal hiking trail. The auto tour is an excellent way to see the Refuge. A pair of binoculars is a must and a camera makes it even more fun !!!
Overcast and RAINY !!!!!!!!! ... note the raindrops in the American Goldfinch images ... very very flat lighting for photography ... managed to get some great interaction shots between a Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk who wanted to steal the lunch of a Rough-legged Hawk ...

While watching a Rough-legged Hawk enjoying her catch, a Red-tailed Hawk flew in and tried to claim it. The scuffle was brief. The Rough-legged won.
